2023 Assembly elections in Five Indian States 

In October 2023, the Indian Election Commission announced the dates for the assembly elections in five states of India: Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Manipur, and Telangana.

Today, assembly elections are taking place in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. In both states, the election process started at 7:00 AM, with thousands of people showing up at the polling booths. The voting will take place in two parts in Chhattisgarh, with the first part already held on 7th November. Mizoram also had its election on the same day.

In both Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, the main electoral fight is between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress. In Mizoram, the regional political party named The Mizo National Front (MNF) is one of the strongest contenders.

Rajasthan will have its election on 23rd November, and Telangana on 30th November. The votes for all the states will be counted on 3rd December, and the results will be announced the same day.

Almost sixteen crore people will cast their votes in these five assembly elections. The Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, announced that several security measures have been taken by the Election Commission to maintain peace during the voting process.
