81st Golden Globe Awards

The 81st Golden Globes Awards took place on 8th January 2024. It was televised live from Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Comedian Jo Koy hosted the award ceremony where the best of Hollywood were awarded for their outstanding performances. 

Oppenheimer won the award for Best Motion Picture (drama), while Poor Things took home the award for Best Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical). Succession was declared the winner for the best television series (Drama), and The Bear won the award for the best television series (Musical or Comedy).

Actor Cillian Murphy, who played the role of the scientist Robert Oppenheimer, won the award for the best performance by a male actor in a motion picture (drama). And the award for the best performance by a female actor in a motion picture (Drama) was won by Lily Gladstone for her performance in the movie Killer of the Flower Moons. 

The 2023 movie Barbie won the newly-introduced category of Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. The song What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish, which was a part of the Barbie movie won the best original song. 

The star-studded event saw multiple talented personalities of Hollywood under the same roof. The 81st Golden Globes Awards was a joyous occasion for the entertainment industry and a super exciting start to the 2024 awards season.
