Canada Open 2023

The Canada Open or the Yonex Canada Open 2023, is an international badminton championship held in Canada annually. It was established in 1957 and combined with the Canadian National Championships until 1961. After 1962, the two events were played separately. From 2023 onwards, the Canadian Open will be a Super 500 Tournament, which is a part of the Badminton World Federation Tour (BWF). Before this, the championship was at the entry-level Super 100. 

The Canada Open 2023 was played in Calgary, Canada, at the Markin-MacPhail Centre. The tournament was held between July 4 and 9. This was the 58th edition of the championship. The event had several categories like Men’s and Women’s singles, Men’s and Women’s doubles and Mixed doubles. Lakshya Sen, a Commonwealth Games Champion from India, won the Men’s singles category at the Canada Open 2023. In the finals, he won against Li Shi Feng of China with a score of 21-18, 22-20.  Li Shi Feng was the winner of the Men’s singles at the All England Open 2023 championship which was held in March.
