Aditi Swamy Breaks World Record in Archery World Cup 2023

The Archery World Cup is organized by the World Archery Federation. It is held once every year. In this competition, archers from different countries compete against each other in four stages. Each of these stages is played in a different country, including the final. 8 best archers are selected from each of the four stages to compete in the Archery World Cup Final. The competition has different events including compound, recurve and mixed teams. Men and women have separate teams in all of these events. The Archery World Cup was first played in 2006. 

The 2023 Archery World Cup is the 17th edition of the tournament. It started on April 19 and will go on till September 10. This year, the four stages of the Archery World Cup are being played at Antalya (Turkey), Shanghai (China), Medellin (Colombia) and Paris (France), respectively. The Archery World Cup final will be played in Hermosillo (Mexico). 

The 3rd stage of the competition started on June 13 and will end on June 18. Teenage archer Aditi Gopichand Swamy broke the under 18 world record in the women’s compound qualification round at stage 3 of the World Cup 2023. She scored 711 points out of 720, breaking the previous record of 705 by Liko Arreola from the USA. 

The 4th stage of the 2023 Archery World Cup will be held between August 15 to 20. The finals will happen on September 9 and 10.
