Aditi Swamy Breaks World Record in Archery World Cup 2023

The Archery World Cup is a tournament which is held once every year. In this competition, archers from different countries compete against one another in four stages. Each of these stages and the finals are played in different countries. The competition has different events including compound, recurve and mixed teams. Men and women have separate teams in all of these events. The Archery World Cup was first played in 2006. 

The 2023 Archery World Cup is the 17th edition of the tournament. It started on April 19 and will go on till September 10. This year, the four stages of the Archery World Cup will be played in Antalya (Turkey), Shanghai (China), Medellin (Colombia) and Paris (France), respectively. The Archery World Cup final will be played in Hermosillo (Mexico). 

Teenage archer Aditi Gopichand Swamy broke the under 18 world record in the women’s compound qualification round at stage 3 of the World Cup 2023. She scored 711 points out of 720, breaking the previous record of 705 by Liko Arreola from the USA.
