Adult Autism Awareness Day

Adult Autism Awareness Day

Every year, on April 18, Adult Autism Awareness Day is observed all around the world, especially by people whose loved ones suffer from autism. According to statistics, in India alone, autism affects 1 in every 500 adults.

Autism is a neurological developmental disorder in which people show repetitive behaviors, demonstrate different ways of moving or learning as compared to the others. People with autism experience difficulty forming social connections, because they find it hard to understand the feelings and thoughts of others, which often leads them to avoid social gatherings and prefer to be alone.

Although there is no cure for autism, scientists and researchers are trying to find better ways to help people deal with the autism spectrum disorder symptoms better.
