Aerial Pictures of Mars and Perseverance Rover

During its 51st flight, NASA’s Mars Ingenuity helicopter took an extraordinary picture of Mars. The picture showed Mars having a beautiful blue sky. This was different from most of the pictures taken of Mars’ sky. Most pictures of Mars show it having a red sky. This happens because the dust particles present in the air absorb the blue light. The sky only appears blue during sunrise or sunset.

The picture also fascinated everyone because it captured a glimpse of the Perseverance Rover which was sent to Mars in 2020 to detect the presence of life on the planet. In the picture taken by Ingenuity, Perseverance can be seen covered in dust.

Both Perseverance and Ingenuity are a part of NASA’s Mars 2020 mission and capture extraordinary pictures of each other from time to time. The purpose of this mission is to learn more about the history of Mars and to detect any presence of life on the planet.
