Aerial Pictures of Mars and Perseverance Rover

NASA’s Mars Ingenuity helicopter took an extraordinary picture of Mars during its 51st flight. The picture showed Mars having a beautiful blue sky, which was unlike any other picture witnessed so far. Most pictures of Mars show it having a red sky. This happens because the dust particles present in the air absorb the blue light. The sky only appears blue during sunrise or sunset.

Apart from the blue sky, the picture also caught the attention of everyone because it captured a glimpse of the Perseverance Rover which was sent to Mars in 2020 to detect the presence of life on the planet. In the picture, Perseverance can be seen covered in ample amounts of dust and looking indistinguishable from the rocks.

Both Perseverance and Ingenuity are a part of NASA’s Mars 2020 mission and capture extraordinary pictures of each other from time to time. The purpose of the mission is to learn more about the history of Mars and to detect the presence of life on the planet.
