An application Named SAKHI Developed by ISRO

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has developed a multi-purpose application that will accompany the astronauts in the Gaganyaan Space Mission. It is named the Space-borne Assistant and Knowledge Hub for Crew Interaction, or SAKHI for short. It is designed to assist astronauts in performing essential mission tasks.

SAKHI is being developed for the first space mission of India, where humans will be sent to outer space. It is named the Gaganyaan Space Mission.

A facility of ISRO, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) is behind the creation of this app. This multi-purpose app will help the astronauts in many ways- looking up important information, communicating with other astronauts and helping them stay connected with Earth. Additionally, it plays a pivotal role in monitoring the astronauts’ health, tracking their dietary habits, and ensuring their well-being by constantly checking their blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels. With Sakhi, the astronauts will be able to keep track of the space mission by maintaining records in it.

ISRO plans on launching the Gaganyaan Space Mission in 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed the four astronauts training for this mission in a huge event in February of this year. The final crew for Gaganyaan will be selected from among them.
