The Asia Cup is a men’s International cricket tournament. It was started in 1983. Only Asian countries participate in the tournament. The tournament is played in one of two formats: One Day International having 50 overs and Twenty20 International with 20 overs. In 2015, it was decided by the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the tournament would alternate between the two formats.

India has won the most number of Asia Cup tournaments with a total of 7 titles. Closely behind India, with 6 wins is Sri Lanka. In third place is Pakistan with two winning titles. 

This year, the 2023 Asia Cup will be played in the One Day Internationals format. It began on August 30 and will end on September 17. The tournament is being hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan. This is the first time that two countries are hosting the tournament together. Some of the matches will be played in Pakistan, while the others will be played in Sri Lanka. A total of 13 matches will be held. This year, 6 countries will be seen competing with each other. The participating countries are Sri Lanka, Bangladesh India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Nepal. The first match of this edition was played between Pakistan and Nepal, on August 30.
