Asian Games 2023 Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games was recently held at the Hangzhou Sports Park Stadium in Hangzhou, China. China is hosting the games for the third time. 

The 19th Asian Games started on September 23, 2023. Huge digital screens were used during the opening ceremony. Everyone was excited to look at the different images being shown on the screens. 

Xi Jinping, the President of China, opened the ceremony and the games. Because the Hangzhou Asian Games is an eco-friendly game, no real fireworks were used during the opening ceremony. Instead, digital fireworks were launched which were created using Artificial Intelligence!

The Indian team had a total of 921 members including 655 athletes. The rest were coaches and support staff. 

While six Chinese athletes were the physical torchbearers of the event. To the surprise of everyone, virtual torch bearers lit up a digital cup which was on display. Although the ceremony went on for almost two hours, it was extremely entertaining!
