Asian Para Games 2023 Come to an End

The Asian Para Games 2023 was held in Hangzhou, China. It started on October 22 and recently came to an end on October 28. Among all the 144 participating nations, India ranked fifth with 111 medals, of which 29 were gold medals, 31 silver and 51 bronze. China topped the medal tally with 521 medals.  

The Asian Para Games 2023 are held once every four years. This was the 4th edition of the championship. India sent its biggest-ever contingent to the Asian Para Games this year. A total of 309 athletes comprising 196 men and 113 women participated in the championship. In the previous edition of the Games, which was held in Jakarta in 2018, India had sent 188 athletes.

India gave its best performance this year. The previous best was at the 2018 Asian Para Games where India had won 72 medals including 15 gold, 24 silver and 33 bronze.
