Assam’s Bihu Dance Makes Two World Records

On Thursday, April 15, a huge Bihu celebration took place at the Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati, Assam. During this event, a total of 11,304 dancers came together to perform Bihu accompanied by 2,548 drummers. Many political leaders were a part of this mega Bihu performance such as the chief minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sharma and the official adjudicator of the Guinness World Records, Rishi Nath to name a few. 

This event broke two Guinness World Records. One for the largest Bihu dance in a single venue and the other for the largest number of drummers. 

On Friday evening, the Guinness World Record certificates were handed over to the chief minister in the presence of Narendra Modi by the official adjudicator of the Guinness World Records, in the same stadium where the performance had taken place.
