Assembly Election Results 2023

Results of the November 2023 Assembly Elections in five Indian states, Mizoram, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, were revealed on December 3.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured the most votes in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh.

In Telangana, Congress triumphed over the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), ending its 9-year rule since 2014. This marked a historic win for the Congress Party, leading to the appointment of a new Chief Minister in Telangana on December 7.

Mizoram saw the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), the youngest political party, emerge as the top choice. Similar to Telangana, Mizoram welcomed a new Chief Minister on December 8.

While the new chief ministers of Telangana and Mizoram have been appointed, the other three states have yet to name their new Chief Ministers. Their names will be declared by the end of this week. 

With the counting and announcement of results on December 3, the 2023 Assembly Elections have ended.
