Astronauts Celebrate Christmas in Space

As Christmas was celebrated worldwide, astronauts staying on the International Space Station(ISS) also took part in the celebrations away from Earth. The International Space Station is a large spacecraft where astronauts stay to study outer space.

Away from their real homes, they took part in the joy of Christmas by wearing Christmas hats and decorating the Space Station with stockings and Christmas trees. Astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli shared pictures of her and her co-workers on the social media platform, Instagram. Due to zero gravity, they could be seen floating inside the space station. 

Moghbeli shared the pictures with a caption describing her happiness in celebrating the festivities with her ‘space family’.

Currently, there are seven astronauts present on the space station for a six-month-long mission. The other three astronauts could not be seen in the posted pictures. This unique celebration is a reminder of how people find a way to take part in the simple joys of life.
