Bihar Day 2024

Every year on 22nd March, Bihar Day or Bihar Diwas is celebrated in India. On 22nd March 1912, Bihar became a state of its own. Earlier, Bihar was a part of the Bengal province in British India. On the same day, Odisha was also separated from the Bengal province. 

The state government of Bihar started celebrating Bihar Day in 2010. This day is celebrated with great joy. It reflects the glorious history of the state and brings forward its rich culture and heritage. Throughout the state, many cultural programs and events are organised to celebrate this special day. It is a public holiday across the state as offices, banks, and other institutions remain shut on this day. 

In 2024, it has been 112 years since Bihar was separated. Bihar Day is not only celebrated in the state but in many places around the world. In countries such as the United States, Canada, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, this day is celebrated by the people of Bihar living there.
