Bihar Day 2024

Every year on 22nd March, we celebrate Bihar Day or Bihar Diwas. Bihar is one of the states of India which was formed in 1912. 

Earlier, Bihar was a part of Bengal. On 22nd March 1912, Bihar was cut out from Bengal and made into a new state!  On the same day, Odisha was also separated from Bengal. 

The first Bihar Day was celebrated in the year 2010. This day is celebrated with great joy. It reflects the great history of the state. Throughout the state, many cultural events are organised to celebrate this special day. It is a public holiday across the state as offices, banks, and other places remain closed on this day. 

In 2024, it has been 112 years since Bihar was formed. Bihar Day is celebrated in many places around the world. In countries such as the United States, Canada and Baihran, this day is celebrated by the people of Bihar living there.
