Bihar Day 2024

Every year on 22nd March, Bihar Day or Bihar Diwas is celebrated in India. This day marks the date when Bihar became a state of its own in 1912. Earlier, Bihar was a part of the Bengal province in British India. On the same day, Odisha was also separated from the Bengal province. 

The state government of Bihar took the initiative to celebrate the first Bihar Day in 2010. This day is celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm. It reflects the glorious history of the state and brings forward its rich culture and heritage. Throughout the state, many cultural programs and events are organised to celebrate this special day. Bihar Day 2024 is a public holiday across the state as offices, banks, and other institutions remain shut on this day. 

In 2024, Bihar is celebrating its 112th year of existence. Bihar Day is not only celebrated in the state but in many places around the world. In countries such as the United States, Canada, Bahrain, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, this day is celebrated by the people of Bihar residing there.
