Darjeeling to Host World Tennis Masters Tournament

Darjeeling will be hosting the SBI Life MT 200 World Tennis Masters Tournament from May 13 to 19, at the Darjeeling Gymkhana Club in association with the Bengal Tennis Association. The tournament will be organized with the support of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The Darjeeling Gymkhana Club was established in 1909.

The tournament will be attended by more than 90 players from all across India, as well as from abroad. There will be 9 categories in age groups with the youngest being 40 plus to the 75 plus. The tournament is open to all genders. This is a ranking tournament, which means that a player’s performance decides his or her scores and rank in a category. 

The referee of the tournament will be Barun Lala, who is a part of Sportskedia. Sportskedia is a sports related startup company which will be providing the technical expertise in the tournament.
