Data Science and AI to be Taught in Classes XI-XII From Academic Year 2023-24

The West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education has decided to introduce two new subjects, data science and artificial intelligence for classes XI-XII from the academic session 2023-24. Since the official notice regarding this was released, many schools have shown interest in this matter. The council expects that around a hundred schools will be able to include the new subjects in their regular academic curriculum. Teachers may be trained for the new subjects in June or July by the Council. 

Data science and artificial intelligence are the two trending topics of this generation. There is a growing demand for data scientists in the IT sector, owing to the fact that the amount of data released by companies globally keeps growing massively every year. Along the same lines, artificial intelligence has become a necessity to provide more computing power.
