Easter 2024

Easter 2024

Easter is a holiday that is celebrated by the followers of Christianity around the world to commemorate the revival of Jesus Christ. The exact date of Easter varies each year because it is based on the lunar calendar. It generally falls on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox( a phenomenon where the length of the day and night is the same). This year, we are celebrating Easter on 31st March.

The previous Friday, we celebrated Good Friday which marks Jesus Christ sacrificing his life by crucifixion. Easter celebrates the time when Jesus Christ came back to life. The significance of Easter lies in its representation of new life, hope, and the victory of good over evil, as well as the belief in eternal life through Jesus Christ’s resurrection. It is also known as the Ressurection Day.

Beyond its religious significance, One of the most popular Easter customs is the Easter egg hunt, in which kids look for hidden eggs containing candy or small toys. The egg symbolises new life and rebirth. People also decorate eggs and take part in Easter lunches. Easter also marks the beginning of the spring season.
