The FIFA Women’s World Cup is an international football tournament in which many nations participate. It is played once every four years. The FIFA Women’s World Cup started in 1991. Earlier, the FIFA Women’s World Cup was called FIFA Women’s World Championships. 

In the FIFA Women’s World Cup, a total of 32 teams compete to reach the finals. So far, 8 FIFA Women’s World Cup matches have been held. The last two FIFA Women’s World Cups in 2019 and 2015 were won by the United States.

This year, the 9th edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup is being held. The championship started on July 20 and will end on August 20. Australia and New Zealand are hosting the World Cup. This is the first time that two nations are hosting the FIFA Women’s World Cup at the same time. The opening match was played on July 20 at Eden Park in New Zealand between the host nation and Norway. The host team emerged victorious in the match. 

The final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will take place on August 20, 2023, at Sydney Olympic Stadium in Australia.
