G20 Summit 2023 in Darjeeling

The G20 Tourism Working Group meeting was recently held in Darjeeling from the 1st to 3rd of April. Many important people attended the meeting to discuss matters related to tourism, such as the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development of the North Eastern region.  A total of 130 foreign delegates attended this meeting.

To welcome them, the district of Darjeeling was beautifully decorated. Cultural programmes, which included singing and dancing, were organized for their entertainment. The delegates also got to see the moonlight tea leaf plucking at the Makaibari Tea Garden and ride the Darjeeling HImalayan Railway train, which were  the two main highlights of the welcoming event. 

With this G20 meeting, we can expect that more tourists will be attracted to the hills of Darjeeling and the tourism will grow further.
