 India beat Japan to claim the Asian Champion Trophy 2023

The Indian women’s hockey team won the Asian Champions Trophy by defeating Japan in the finals. The game took place at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh AstroTurf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi on November 5, 2023.

India won with a score of 4-0. The players Sangita Kumari, Neha Goyal, Lalremsiami Hmarzote, and Vandana Katariya scored the points. The team’s captain, Savita Punia, did a great job as the goalkeeper by preventing Japan from scoring. The head coach of the team is Janneke Schopman. 

This marks the second time the Indian women’s hockey team has won the Asian Championship. They previously won in 2016 in Singapore. Before this, they secured the FIH Nations Cup in Valencia in December 2022. 

The final match between India and Japan drew a lot of attention from sports fans, with thousands of people attending the stadium to watch. The Indian women’s hockey team inspired thousands of Indians with their outstanding performance.
