India beat Japan to claim the Asian Champion Trophy 2023

In the Asian Champions Trophy finals, the Indian women’s hockey team won against Japan. The game took place at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh AstroTurf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi on November 5, 2023.

India won with a score of 4-0. The players Sangita Kumari, Neha Goyal, Lalremsiami Hmarzote, and Vandana Katariya scored the points. The team’s captain, Savita Punia, did a great job as the goalkeeper by stopping Japan from scoring. The head coach of the team is Janneke Schopman. 

This is the second time the Indian women’s hockey team has won the Asian Championship. They previously won in 2016 in Singapore.
