Recently, India has made it to the top 100 in the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Rankings. This great feat of achievement has been accomplished under the guidance and leadership of the footballer Sunil Chettri. Earlier India stood at the 101st position, but on June 27, moved up to the 100th place, making its spot in the top 100 FIFA Rankings. India had secured the 99th in the FIFA Top 100 Ranking in March of 2018. Since then, this is the first time India ranked up in the charts.

As of June 2023, the first position in the FIFA Ranking is held by Argentina. The second and third place is occupied by France and Brazil, respectively. At present, there are 211 members in the rankings.

The Indian football team has been in great form recently, judging from the fact that they have won all nine matches played in 2023.
