The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) of the USA are working together on a space mission. Four Indian astronauts will be training for this joint mission with the USA, as said by the chairman of ISRO, S Somanath. NASA’s head, Bill Nelson, said that the launch will take place in 2024. One of the four astronauts will get special training from NASA and travel to the International Space Station at the end of 2024 to research

The mission is named ‘NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar’ or ‘NISAR’ for short. It will study Earth and ways to protect it. Bill Nelson mentioned that it will study Earth’s changing environments. This mission will also give scientists information to understand global warming in a better way.

Talking about India’s success in space, Nelson praised the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3. He shared that the USA wanted to work with India in space exploration from a decade ago because they could see India’s scientific power. He also said that there is a  strong bond between the two countries, especially in the field of science.
