Indian Artists Win Grammy Awards

On 4th February 2024, the 66th Grammy Awards took place. It is an award show where talented musicians are given awards for their songs. This award show is named after the musical instrument Gramophone. What is a Gramophone? It is a music player that was used a long time ago. 

Indian musician Shankar Mahadevan and tabla player Zakir Hussian were awarded in this ceremony.  They are a part of a music band named Shakti. They won the Grammy award for their album “This Moment.” This album was released in June of 2023. It won the Best Global Music Album category. 

Legendary Tabla player Zakir Hussain won another award for his song “Pashto.” in this song, he worked with another Indian musician Rakesh Chaurasia. Chaurasia is a great flute player who also won two awards in this ceremony. It was a big night for these musical legends of India.
