Indian Table Tennis Team Qualifies for the Paris Olympics

The Indian men’s and women’s table tennis teams have qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics. It will take place from June to August this year. This is the first time that India has qualified for the Olympic table tennis team event. 

The qualifying round for the ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) World Table Tennis Team Championships took place in Busan on 21st February. Both Indian teams lost their matches. The official list will be released in March, however, as per calculations, both teams are a part of the Paris Olympics. 

The captain of the Indian men’s team is 41-year-old Sharath Kamal. He expressed his joy on the teams qualifying for such an important event. He said, “To be playing in a team event at the Olympics would be a dream come true.”

In total, sixteen table tennis teams will qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. With the Indian players showcasing impressive skills, table tennis is gaining significant attention in the country.
