India’s Progress at the 19th Asian Games So Far

The 19th Asian Games began on September 23, 2023, with a bang! The grand opening ceremony held at the Hangzhou Sports Park Stadium in Hangzhou, China, took everyone by surprise and filled everyone with excitement!

So far, India has won 32 medals out of which 8 are gold and 12 each in silver and bronze.

The number of gold medals won by India in different sports are mentioned below: 

• Shooting – 6 gold medals
• Equestrian – 1 gold medal
• Cricket – 1 gold medal

India won silver medals in the following sports:

• Shooting – 7 silver medals
• Rowing – 2 silver medals
• Sailing – 1 silver medal
• Tennis – 1 silver medals
• Wushu – 1 silver medal

Bronze medals were won by India in the sports mentioned below:

• Shooting – 5 bronze medals
• Equestrian – 1 bronze medal
• Rowing – 3 bronze medals
• Sailing – 2 bronze medals
• Squash – 1 bronze medal
