International Booker Prize Winner 2023

The International Booker Prize is a literary prize which is awarded annually to the best novel of the year. The award is presented to the best work of fiction, which is decided by the panel of judges. This year the shortlisted titles for the Booker Prize 2023 included 6 books. The book titles are as follows:

• Boulder 
• Whale 
• The Gospel According to the New World 
• Standing Heavy
• Time Shelter 
• Still Born 

The shortlisted titles were announced in April 2023. On May 23rd, at Sky Garden in London, the winner of the International Booker Prize 2023 was announced and the award was presented to Georgi Gospodinov for his book Time Shelter, which was translated by Angela Rodel. 

The novel talks about the power of memories and how they shape a person’s identity and control their view of the world. The plot of the novel is set against the backdrop of Europe.
