International Children’s Day

International Children’s Day is celebrated every year on June 1 by several countries in the world. The aim of celebrating this day is to raise awareness about the rights and wellbeing of children all around the world. The day attempts to shed light on the serious issues faced by children, such as child abuse, lack of access to basic education, poverty and hunger. International Children’s Day makes people realize the challenges faced by the youngest members of the society. It attempts to unite people to improve the quality of lives of children.

International Children’s Day is sometimes celebrated on different dates in different parts of the world. The International Children’s Day for Protection of Children was established by the Women’s International Democratic Federation in Moscow in 1949. Since then, attempts have been made to better the lives of children all around the globe.
