International Day of Happiness

International Day of Happiness

Every year on 20th March, we celebrate the International Day of Happiness around the world. This day shows us the importance of being happy. In 2012, 20th March was announced as the International Day of Happiness. Since then, we have celebrated this day by spreading joy around the world.

The country of Bhutan came up with the idea of measuring the happiness of its citizens. In Bhutan, if people were happy, then the country was believed to be growing. Bhutan also gave the idea to celebrate International Happiness Day.

The theme for this year is ‘Reconnecting for Happiness: Building Resilient Communities’. This day is celebrated around the world by organising events that try to make people happy and full of life.
