International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2023

International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2023

Every year on 3rd December, we celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. A disability is when someone has a challenge in their body or mind that makes it a bit harder for them to do things that other people can do easily. People affected by these conditions face many problems in their daily lives. This day is about making people understand the challenges that persons with disabilities face.

The United Nations General Assembly announced 3rd December as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities back in 1992.

On this day, multiple events are held around the world by various important organisations. It aims at spreading awareness about the problems faced by people with disabilities. In India, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities celebrated this day at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi yesterday. President Draupadi Murmu was the chief guest and gave awards to people working hard to help persons with disabilities.

This day aims to make sure that people with disabilities can take part in society fully and equally. This day is about working together to make sure that people with disabilities can achieve their goals and contribute to making the world a better place.
