International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2023

International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2023

Every year on 3rd December, we celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This day is about making people aware of the challenges that persons with disabilities face. The goal is to encourage ideas that secure the rights and well-being of people with disabilities. The United Nations General Assembly established this day in 1992.

The World Health Organization hosts an annual event at its headquarters in Geneva to raise awareness of this day. The UN also hosts a similar event in New York. They have panel discussions and cultural events to help spread the word. In India, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities celebrated this day at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi yesterday. President Draupadi Murmu was the chief guest and gave awards to individuals and organizations working hard to uplift persons with disabilities.

This day aims to make sure that people with disabilities can fully, equally, and effectively participate in society without facing any challenges in their lives. This day is about working together to make sure that people with disabilities can achieve their goals and contribute to making the world a better place.
