International Mother Language Day 2024

Every year on February 21st, we celebrate International Mother Language Day. This day helps us see the importance of having different languages around the world. 

21st February was declared the International Mother Language Day in November 2000. The country of Bangladesh was the one to give this idea. The people of Bangladesh worked really hard to make Bengali their National language. In Bangladesh, this day is celebrated as ‘Bhasa Diwas.’

This year also, many events are taking place to inform people about the importance of their mother languages. To celebrate this day, we should learn to speak in our mother language. Also, we should encourage others to do the same.
