ISRO brings back the Propulsion Module used in Chandrayaan-3

Recently, the Space Agency of India, ISRO did something really impressive. They brought back a special part called the “propulsion module” from the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The propulsion module is a powerful engine that helps the spacecraft move in space. It played a big role in making Chandrayaan-3 land on the Moon, and now it’s safely back near Earth.

In August 2023, India became the fourth country ever to land a vehicle on the Moon. The propulsion module helped carry the lander near the Moon. After doing its job, the propulsion module removed itself from the lander. It started going around the Moon, sending information back to ISRO.

ISRO decided to bring the propulsion module back to Earth’s orbit because it still had 100 kilograms of fuel left. This is important because it’s the first time ISRO brought something back from the Moon.

It shows that ISRO is getting ready for future missions. The spacecraft is not just landing on the Moon but also coming back home. They’re one step closer to making Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream come true – sending an Indian astronaut to the Moon by 2040.
