Man Booker Prize Longlist Nominations 2023

Every year, several prestigious awards are given to deserving authors who have shown incredible talent and touched millions of hearts through their work. Awards like the Nobel Prize for Literature, Man Booker Prize, Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Awards are four of the most prestigious literary awards in the world.

Earlier, the Man Booker Prize was called the Booker Prize for Fiction, being named after the company Booker McConnell Ltd. The company sponsored the first awarding event in 1969. The first Man Booker Prize was awarded to P. H. Newby for his novel Something to Answer For. Every year since, the Man Booker Prize has been awarded annually to the best novel written in English and published in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Along with a cash prize of £50,000, the winner of the prize receives international publicity and eventual boost in sales. The Booker Prize Foundation appoints a panel of five people to decide which book receives the award. The panel comprises literary agents, publishers, librarians, and authors. The Man Booker Prize has a similar prize called the International Booker Prize. This award is given to a book translated into English and published in Ireland or the United Kingdom. The prize money is the same and is split between the author and translator.

The 2023 Man Booker Prize longlist nominations have recently been released. It includes a list of 13 books which have a unique storytelling quality. The titles of the books are as follows:
