Nalanda Museum Redecorates Display For International Museum Day

Nalanda Museum, which is located in Bihar, is one of the most prestigious museums of the Archaeological Survey of India. It was established in 1917 and has many antiques of historical, cultural and religious value. These artifacts were excavated from Nalanda. On May 18, Nalanda Museum redecorated its display of antiques for domestic and foreign tourists. This was done to celebrate the occasion of International Museum Day. They put out 315 historical, religious and cultural artifacts for display.

Some of the artifacts on display were stone tools belonging to the stone age, which could be between five to two lakh years old, idols of Mahavira’s parents which could be dated back to the 7th century. Mahavira was a preacher of Jainism and a religious leader. Other artifacts included a Lord Buddha idol showing him in a particular pose, several idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, a Gupta Dynasty gold coin and many more invaluable objects.
