Nalanda Museum Redecorates Display For International Museum Day

Nalanda Museum is one of the most reputed museums of the Archaeological Survey of India. It is located in Bihar. It was established in 1917. The museum has many old items of historical, cultural and religious value. These artifacts were excavated from Nalanda. On May 18, Nalanda Museum redecorated its display of artifacts for tourists. This was done to celebrate the occasion of International Museum Day. They put out 315 artifacts for display.

One of the artifacts were stone tools which were more than two lakh years old. Other objects included idols of Mahavira’s parents from the 7th century. Mahavira was a preacher of Jainism and a religious leader. There was also a Lord Buddha idol, several idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses, a gold coin used in the 3rd century and many more important objects.
