National Education Day 2023 

Every year on 11th November, we celebrate National Education Day in India. On this day we honour the birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. He was the first Education minister of India and a great poet. 

Born in 1888, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad was an important part of Indian independence. He was given the title of the Architect of India. Even though he didn’t study in a school as a child he worked hard to make sure that every Indian child has the right to basic education. 

Maulana Azad helped establish many educational institutes in India. For his contribution to the sector of education in India, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1992. 

This day was announced as the National Education Day by the Ministry of Education, India in 2008. The day tries to make people understand the importance of education and its positive effects on the development of our society. It also tries to make education available to everyone. The theme of the 2023 National Education Day is “Embracing Innovation”. 

To celebrate National Education Day in India, many schools and colleges organise programs with speeches, quizzes and poster-making. We should pay tribute to this great leader of India by paying respect to education and its importance in our lives.
