National Education Day 2023 

Every year on 11th November, we celebrate National Education Day in India, to honour the birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad. He was the first Education minister of India and a great scholar. 

Born in 1888, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad was an important part of Indian independence. He was the senior leader of the Indian National Congress. Maulana Azad was given the title of the Architect of India. Though he didn’t receive any formal education he ensured that every Indian child had a chance to pursue basic education. 

Maulana Azad helped establish many educational institutes in India. For his contribution to the sector of education in India, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1992. 

This day was announced as the National Education Day by the Ministry of Education, India in 2008. The day aims to make people understand the importance of education and its positive effects on the development of our society. It also tries to make education more accessible to all. The theme of the 2023 National Education Day is “Embracing Innovation”. 

To celebrate National Education Day in India, many schools and colleges organise seminars, programs and workshops. We should pay tribute to this great leader of India by paying respect to education and its importance in our lives.
