National Pet Day

National Pet Day is celebrated every year on April 11. It gives people an opportunity to cherish their pets more than usual. Some people celebrate this day by giving their pets extra treats or taking them out for walks. This day also serves as a platform to educate people about the importance of animal welfare and protection. 

But did you know that your pets have silently been protecting you all this time? In a study conducted in Japan in March 2023, it was found that children who grew up with pets had up to 16% lesser risk of developing food allergies. Having dogs or cats as pets was seen to protect against nut, soybean, egg, wheat and milk allergies. This gives you another reason to be thankful for having these furry friends in your life.
