National Sports and Adventure Awards 2024 

On 9th January 2024, the National Sports and Adventure Awards were given to the twenty-six amazing Indian athletes. The event took place at the Rastrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. The President of India, Draupadi Murmu handed the awards to the winners.

Awards such as the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, the Dronacharya Award, and the Arjuna Award were given. Badminton players Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy were given the Mayor Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Awards 2023. This award was earlier known as the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. It was later renamed after the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand.

The Dronacharya Awards are given to the coaches who guide the players. This award was given to Wrestling Coach Lalit Kumar and many other coaches. Cricketer Mohammad Shami was one of the people who won the Arjuna Award.

This ceremony honoured the remarkable athletes of India who continue to make our country proud.
