Neeraj Chopra Claims World No. 1 in World Athletics Men’s Javelin Ranking

Neeraj Chopra, the 25 year old athlete from India, has claimed the World No. 1 position in the World Athletics in Men’s Javelin throw ranking. The position was previously held by the world champion Anderson Peters from Grenada. Neeraj Chopra surpassed him with a total of 1455 points to become the new World No. 1 javelin thrower and made history. Anderson Peters holds the second position with 1433 points. The third place is claimed by Jakub Vadlejch of Czech Republic who has scored a total of 1416 points. 

Neeraj Chopra had been holding the second position since August of last year. His win in the Diamond League 2022 finals in Zurich and in the season opening of Doha Diamond League 2023 secured his place in the World No. 1 in World Athletics in javelin ranking.
