Neeraj Chopra Secures Another Win at Diamond League 2023

The Stockholm Diamond League 2023 started on May 5 and will end on September 17. This is the 14th edition of the Diamond League. The first round of the championship was played at the Qatar Sports Club stadium in Doha, Qatar on May 5th. During this event, the Indian Olympian Neeraj Chopra secured the first position in Men’s Javelin Throw, covering a distance of 88.67 meters. Jakub Vadlejch from Czechia was placed second with a distance of 88.63 meters, closely followed by Grenadian athlete Anderson Peters who covered 85.88 meters. 

The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds of the 2023 Diamond League were played in Morocco, Italy, France and Norway, respectively. 

The 6th round of the 2023 Diamond League was held at the Stade de la Pontaise in Lausanne, Switzerland on June 30. During this event, India’s pride, Neeraj Chopra secured a second consecutive win in the Men’s Javelin Throw, with a distance of 87.66 meters. Closely behind him was the German athlete Jilian Weber with a throw of 87.03 meters and Jakub Vadlejch with 86.13 meters. 

Neeraj Chopra will be seen performing next in Round 9, which is scheduled at Monaco on July 21. The results of the 2023 Diamond League will be declared on September 17 after the completion of all 13 rounds and the Diamond League Final.
