New Chief Ministers For Three Indian States

With the Assembly Elections of the five states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh coming to an end and the results being out on December 3, three states have welcomed their new Chief Ministers. They are Telangana, Mizoram and Chhattisgarh.

On December 7, 2023, A Revanth Reddy replaced the old CM of Telangana, K Chandrashekar Rao. He was sworn in as chief minister by the governor at Lal Bahadur stadium in Hyderabad amid a huge gathering. 

Mizoram welcomed its new Chief Minister, Lalduhoma, on December 8. Lalduhoma founded the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), which won the Assembly Elections and surpassed the ruling party Mizo National Front (MNF). He became the sixth chief minister since Mizoram became a Union Territory and a state. 

For the first time in the 23-year history of Chhattisgarh, a person from the tribal community has been elected as the new Chief Minister. Vishnu Deo Sai is a party veteran and former Union Minister. He will be taking over as the next CM before January 3, 2024.

The states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are yet to announce the names of their new Chief Ministers.
