Nobel Prize in Literature 2023

Norwegian writer Jon Fosse was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2023. He is popular for writing creative plays and stories that express difficult feelings and thoughts. He was born in Norway in 1959 and started writing at the age of twelve.

When he was seven, a serious accident influenced his writing style as he grew up. Fosse wrote in a specific Norwegian language called Nynorsk. When he was in university, he published three novels. After completing his education, he wrote many more novels, stories, poems, children’s books, plays, and essays.

He is the first Nynorsk writer to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages.

Some of his best works include “Morning and Evening” (2015), “Aliss at the Fire” (2004), “Andvake” (2007), “I Am The Wind” (2003), and “Melancholy I-II” (2023).
