Pixar’s Toy Story turns 28

28 years ago, the fan-favourite Pixar movie Toy Story was released on 22nd November. It was the first movie to be entirely animated by computer. It became a huge success and received a lot of love from the audience.

Toy Story was the first movie made by Pixar. Back then, Pixar was a new company that was hired by Disney. Before Toy Story, animated films were made with a series of drawings that were shot in a manner to make it look like a video. With the release of Toy Story, the computer-animated movies became a regular part of Hollywood.

Directed by John Lasseter, the film is set in a world where toys come to life when humans are not around. It follows a group of toys owned by a boy named Andy, mainly focusing on Woody and Buzz Lightyear. It was nominated for three Oscars and became the second highest-earning movie of 1995. Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen voiced the main characters.

After the incredible success of the first movie, multiple other projects were launched revolving around the toys. Toy Story 5 is currently being made. It will probably be released between 2026 and 2028. The Toy Story series continues to create its magic with every age group alike.
