Every year on October 31st, India celebrates National Unity Day in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat.

Sardar Vallabhai Patel was a great freedom fighter and India’s first Home Minister. After India was free from British rule, Sardar Patel worked hard to bring the entire country together. The Statue of Unity, introduced by PM Modi on October 31, 2018, is a tribute to him.

A cultural event was organised with parades where PM Modi said some important words about unity. PM Modi announced the launch of various projects for India’s development.

On the 148th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the people of India came together to celebrate the ‘Iron Man’ of India. He firmly believed in the power of unity. It was this belief that helped him bring divided India together.
